The goal of the University of Nebraska Omaha Aviation Institute is to give students the best information on careers in aviation through tours, flight simulation, guest speakers and interactive learning. The group will meet each month throughout the year. The initial meeting will take place at the Thompson Alumni Center, located on the far west side of campus on Dodge Street. Parents and friends are welcome to come to the first meeting.

You’ve seen the cranes, you’ve been in their buildings, now is your chance to experience firsthand the process involved in planning, executing and constructing commercial buildings. Multiple areas of engineering will be covered and students will have the opportunity to meet experts in the field as well as visit the projects Kiewit is currently building.
Join the instructors of Advanced Air Inc. at the Council Bluffs, Iowa Airport for a five week exploration of the aviation industry. Space is limited and acceptance into the program is on a first come, first served basis. We will be covering airplanes, the basic principles of flight (what keeps an airplane up in the air) and the parts and function of the aircraft on the first week. All students (weather permitting) will have the opportunity to fly at the last session.
Interested in architecture and engineering career exploration? Come join the professionals of HDR. Unless noted otherwise, all meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the HDR 2nd Floor Auditorium.
Students will learn about careers that can be obtained with a degree in Nursing, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, Drafting, Graphic Communications and Design, and Electronics. Students will learn about prevention of infection in Nursing, process physical evidence in Criminal Justice, make changes in AutoCAD using a CAD drawing in Drafting, work with a design in Graphic Communications and Design, and will solder projects in Electronics.

Professional meteorologists from the Omaha area will work with you to learn the basics of meteorology and also explore related interests like storm chasing and weather photography.
